Infinity Spin ist ein virtuelles Format für 360° Poesie, das mit dem Mobiltelefon aufgerufen wird. Die Anwendung zeigt einen Schriftzug, der AnwenderInnen panoramaartig umschließt. Hierbei ist der jeweilige Text immer nur ausschnittsweise auf dem Display zu sehen und erschließt sich über eine Drehung um die eigene Körperachse. Zu lesen ist ein Satz – eine Mise en Abyme – der sich ausgangs selbst zitiert, sodass sich Lesende in einer Endlosschleife befinden. Durch den performativen Akt der Drehung wird der ganze Körper in den Lesevorgang mit einbezogen und dessen Zusammenspiel mit Medienapparatur und Text unmittelbar spürbar gemacht. Die virtuelle Gestaltung ist rein auf den Schriftzug reduziert und verzichtet damit auf jede konkurrierende bildliche Darstellung. Hier fungiert die Sprache als Brücke zwischen dem Realen und Virtuellen. Derart schafft der Text einen situativen Moment, der klar im digitalen Raum verortet ist und an der Schnittstelle von Literatur und Medienkunst sowohl über eine (Bilder) kommentierende Funktion als auch über den Duktus einer Papierlektüre hinausweist.

Im Zeitrahmen hybrider Veranstaltungen, die sowohl online als auch an realen Orten stattfinden, wird je eine kuratierte Auswahl an Texten präsentiert, die am Ausstellungsort über QR-Codes verfügbar sind.

Christiane Böhm ist als Kunstwissenschaftlerin institutionell und freiberuflich tätig – ihr Fokus liegt im Ausstellungs- und Publikationsmanagement, sowie in der Umsetzung interdisziplinärer Projekte.

Vera Sebert ist Medienkünstlerin und arbeitet an der Schnittstelle von Softwareentwicklung, Experimentalfilm und Sprache.

Infinity Spin is a virtual environment for 360° poetry, which is accessible by mobile phones. The application shows a line of text, which surrounds users like a panorama. Hereby the text line can never be seen as a whole but only in sections on the user’s displays and is revealed by rotating around oneself’s body axis. By reading the sentence, which is quoting itself according to the principle of a Mise en Abyme, the readers find themselves in an endless loop. The performative act of turning around includes the whole body as part of the process of reading and immediately transforms its interaction with the media apparatus and the text into a concrete physical experience. The virtual design is barely reduced to the lettering. It gets along without any competitive pictorial illustrations so that language becomes a bridge between the real and virtual. In this way at the intersection of new media and literature the text creates a situational moment, which is clearly located in digital space and at the same time points beyond both a commenting (on images) function and the style of a paper reading.

A selection of texts, which are accessible at the exhibition venue via QR codes, will be presented during hybrid events which take place both online and in real locations.
